Welcome to Central Elementary School!

Central Elementary School is proud to serve as Menominee Area Public School’s learning center for all of the district’s youngest students; Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades.  We offer our students a quality comprehensive educational instructional program designed to meet the individual and diverse educational needs of all of the students.

The Central Elementary staff is highly qualified and dedicated to providing all with well articulated curriculums in Reading and Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies, currently being aligned to National Common Core Standards.   Students also receive instruction in Music, Health, Visual Arts, and Physical Education.

Student learning at Central Elementary is further enhanced through a variety of outstanding educational programs such as Accelerated Reading and Math, and through support from Title I, At Risk, and Special Education services.

Central also serves 4-years-olds through the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) – a grant funded program through the State of Michigan. Parents must apply and meet the eligibility guidelines for their child to participate.  The focus of GSRP is to prepare children for future social and academic success. Central Elementary is the site of the Menominee County Intermediate School District’s Early Childhood Program serving children ages 3-5 who have an active Individualized Educational Plan (IEP.)

Parental support and involvement in their child’s education is critical to school success. We at Central Elementary believe that “Children are Central:  Children Educated Now To Realize Achievement for Life!”
